The primary mission of the Foundation is to promote, enhance, develop, and ensure public access to the House Museum under its care. To this end, the Foundation oversees its management and contributes to the growth of its collections, including through new donations.

The Foundation also promotes initiatives aimed at disseminating and enhancing the figure and thought of Antonio Gramsci, drawing upon and sharing the results of national and international research across different social and cultural fields. It encourages dialogue among scholars, researchers, and institutions around the world that contribute to the study and interpretation of Gramsci’s thought and work. The Foundation organises educational activities, courses, seminars, and conferences exploring Gramsci’s life, thought, and intellectual method. These initiatives aim to foster dialogue on the contemporary relevance of his work in today’s social and cultural context, in partnership with schools, universities, institutions, and organisations.
